Click on the egg. After repeatedly looking at the message while trying to figure out how to make a dynamic button the word "easter" looks horribly wrong. Maybe it goes beyond the repetition phenomenon into the depths of my judaism, which isn't so deep, in which I'm feeling horrible guilt for eating a cheeseburger (with bun) on passover. Oh really, who am I kidding, I always feel guilty. Now click on the squirrel

The five faces of AD. Adam, my brother, is here visiting from England. In this series, he's at my house checking his email. you can see the expression on his face change from disgust to child-like pleasure. I have no idea what he was reading, or even if his expressions were in response to his email or if they were in response to being photographed. He used to be an actor. He's going back to England tomorrow to be with his family. I'll miss him.

The Symmetry of Peace. the dogs lounge on their sofa quietly, giving me the opportunity to decompensate from a hectic week. Of course, this didn't last very long, once my dinner arrived there was a frenetic terrifying incident which culminated in a wound on my arm inflicted by the otherwise angelic Scout. Thank god I keep up with their shots, is all I can say.

more flash. inspired by Ruby T, I took a look at Muybridge's photographs and took it from there.

Trying to teach myself Flash. it's not so easy, but here's scout walking. Wouldn't it be great if this were enough exercise for her?

Last night I knit a hat. Here it is. it's not the loveliest thing ever, but my god it's so warm. I just took the dogs to the run in the blizzard and it even kept my hands warm. There's so much heat in this head.

So, after seeing the overhaul of Jonathan's office chair I decided to makeover an office chair I found on the street a couple of years ago. Stupidly, I didn't take a 'before' picture because the transformation was impressive, even to me. 'Before' it was covered on all surfaces with a brown/orange pleather-like material, which must have been very attractive to my dog Scout because she ingested quite a bit of it, or perhaps it was so unattractive that she felt the need to save me from it. Anyway - here it is all covered in brown velvet, which feels immeasurably more comfortable on my bare bottom than pleather.

Yesterday (gray) the view was gorgeous, it was snowing. Today (blue) the view is equally as gorgeous, it is not snowing. At breakfast this morning we were being regaled by stories of bears romping freely in the woods around here. Given the level of perfection of every detail Lexi (food writer) decided that the 'bear' was actually the general manager dressed in a bear suit for the benefit of the guests

Here's a picture of Rachel's Spot. Who wouldn't love such a face? this is a cat to get shots for, not to mention Rachel, who is unquestionably a girl worth getting shots for.

So, I'm getting my remaining wisdom teeth pulled this morning. I'm not allowed to eat or drink anything for the 6 hours prior to the procedure, the problem with that is i went to bed at 10 something, so 6 hours NPO turns into 12. I really really want a cup of coffee. of course afterwards I won't be able to take anything by mouth either.
The dogs are oblivious to my pain. the dogs, by the way, are fabulous. they love eachother, all I have to do is train them to let me sleep past 6 am. if I had been able to do that I wouldn't have been deprived of food and beverage for quite so long.

 Tucker est arrivĒ.
12.31.2002
I'm in! Tucker will be arriving on Friday January 3, 2003! Happy New Year!

After some confusion I decided to add the original caption to this drawing: "The dog in the middle's name is Augie, he isn't fixed
He took a particular interest in Scout after the boxer
(not shown) went after him with is teeth bared. I would
have taken a photograph, but I got self conscious about
what people might think of me"Today two ladies from " Mighty Mutts" are coming over to my house with a dog named Tucker to determine whether or not I'm an acceptable person to adopt Tucker. I have no idea what they'll be evaluating, my housekeeping skills? Very nervous because I'm a shitty housekeeper.
I met Tucker at Union Square the weekend before Christmas. I've been wanting a second dog for about a year (hi mom!), but hadn't really found a dog I thought would fit me and Scout. Will this be heaven or mayhem? okay, they just left. we met on the street because Scout knew something
was afoot and so I had to take her out. They loved eachother. The guy had
me walk Tucker and was amazed that I could handle him. Then we came
upstairs where I served coffee. the dogs played and played, Scout was soooo
excited. Tucker less excited than Scout, but they were both pooped at the
end.
The guy is a pre-med advisor at LIU, drinks his coffee black, likes his
20's crisp and gave me no indication whatsoever if he's going to choose me
as Tucker's new owner. I LOVE Tucker. and I'm pretty sure Tucker loved me (really,
he kept coming over to me and presenting his belly).
so, I'll know by tuesday.
The other guy they're interviewing tomorrow lives near Croton. so
basically I'm out.

"A petite, elegant woman who favored high heels and silk, Mrs. Lederer had delicate features and a voice of pure ground glass."

I always confuse "mercury lounge" with "merc bar". They're nothing alike, it's like confusing Faye Dunaway and Lauren Hutton. Anyway, this is Mercury Lounge where we went to see a friend of a friend's band.

"popcorn" has a few namesakes in pathology. well two really. as far as I know, which isn't really far right now because I am wildly tired. One, the worse one, is a popcorn cell in Hodgkin's disease. I never really saw how it resembled popcorn, it does a little, but not much. The other is a pattern of calcification on a mammogram, it's benign, as are many calcifications I've learned. This popcorn is just popcorn.

The snow is still falling. Scout thoroughly enjoyed it. I failed to wear socks and so wasn't enjoying it so much. It is really pretty though, and makes staying inside that much more enjoyable.

This is the view from my 'office'. I'm on the 15th floor of the Annenburg
building at mount sinai hospital. The window is a little dirty, but the view is still excellent. When I turn to my left and look into my microscope
the view is very different, but equally as pretty. I can
pick out the dakota out my office window. I'm having a hard
time recognizing things when I look through my microscope

 My grandmother died in June.
She decided she didn't want to
see anyone while she was sick.
There was a lack of closure for my sister.
I saw this on the sidewalk on my way to work
