Yum, it looks excellent and I am sure it was really good too, that I could go for some pie like it for my breakfast this morning. Of course, in my opinion anyway, pies are always great - the truly good ones; whether they be ones like yours, i.e., superb desserts or, the dinner (actual meal) version, like chicken pot pies and the like intended to be simple, yet superb and hearty meals (and I do not mean the frozen store bought types either). Thank you for sharing the post and picture about your Apple pie Julie, now I have to go out and get myself some good old fashioned apple pie to celebrate my birthday - am 48-years old today.

forgot to mention in my earlier pi(e)ous comment post this morning:
speaking about eating apple pie, did you know that per Act of the Vermont Legislature, not only is the apple pie the official State Pie of Vermont, but while they were busy making that happen, they also made sure to recommend the Vermont way to eat it, (maybe because all of us "flatlanders" would not how to otherwise)?
yep, it is true indeed.
if you do not believe me though, click here.
"No. 15 of the Acts of 1999, effective May 10, 1999, designated the apple pie as the official State Pie and the apple as the official State Fruit. When serving apple pie in Vermont, a "good faith" effort shall be made to meet one or more of the following conditions: (a) with a glass of cold milk, (b) with a slice of cheddar cheese weighing a minimum of 1/2 ounce, (c) with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream."
how do you like those apples?

opps. my apologies. I did not mean to cause a glitch on your blog - in the upper right hand column under "you don't say" by my use of the long URL. will not do that again. feel free to delete that particular URL within my last comment post of course, so it will not keep causing the bearkage between the comments string featured on your main blog page.

nah, i fixed it well worth keeping. who knew we had a state pie?
Posted by: julie | November 17, 2003 12:56 PM
great. thank you.
yeah, my coming across that small slice of little known information comes from having been really bored one day, doing too much Web surfing as well as my hanging out too much around the Vermont State House at times when I formerly did some "lobbying" or monitoring merely as an interested citizen.
