I Should Know Better

September 20th, 2015 Posted in Uncategorized

Looking at pets for adoption is agony. It’s painful. So why do I always go to look at them?? I was walking through a street fair and passed a stand with a bunch of animals up for adoption. I wanted them all. It kills me to talk away.

Because both you and I know that if we gave in to our desires to adopt, we’d both end up with too many in small homes and that wouldn’t be fair to them.

You’ve always done the right thing by adopting rather than getting a purebred from a breeder and I am malleable enough to be Jedi mind-tricked by my vet into adopting my three HIV positive ones.

I know, I’m the same way. But, I try to tell myself that stopping and giving them a few moments of human contact and attention is a good thing, even if its all we can do to help.

One of these days I’m going to get a little dog. It will be after Finney is gone and when I have more $$$.
