Bad News for Finney

April 29th, 2017 Posted in Uncategorized

I picked up Finney the other day and noticed a lump in the same spot where he had his surgery. I was feeling so optimistic. I even ordered a year’s worth of insulin for him! But the vet confirmed his cancer was back. No more surgeries. Pain meds have been ordered. Being an inconsolable wreck is in my future. My poor little guy. I thought you had caught a break.

Dear dear sweet Finney: You will be gentled into the crossing over with all the love, kindness, honor, and dignity that your heart-soul mate and devoted human companion will dedicate to you, you precious soul.

Dear Stacy: This is the last great thing we can do to these wonderful animals who cross our life lines. It never gets easier. But it’s a calling, to send these perfect beings into the beyond with the knowledge that they have been cared for, and loved. Nobody could have given him more of that than you.

The most that any of us can desire is a good death, and with you by his side we all know that the dear Finny will have a warrior’s passing. Which is all that any feline, big or smallish-big, wants — hear him roar.

    Love you, Finney.

Stacy, I’m sorry to read this. I hope you enjoy every remaining day with your sweet guy and spoil the hell out of him. You gave him a happy, peaceful life and will give him a pain-free exit–the most loving thing you can do. My heart goes out to you.

Well that’s crap to hear…. but he goes out with love and that’s all any of us can ask for in this life. He can take that with him, you know?

So sorry to hear Stacy. You are an incredible, loving pet owner. Finley couldn’t have asked for a better owner. Sending prayers for Finney.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. He still seems mostly okay to me for now. I’m dreading the end.
