TW "Lucky 7"
Lodge-n-Lounge

It seemed like a great idea at the time: a nationwide chain of motel lounges, with bottomless bars, construction equipment, and gambling on unregulated rodents. The reputation of the first "Lucky 7" Lodge-n-Lounge Motel prevented the proprietors from building another, however. Open 24hrs a year, the oneandonly Lodge-n- Lounge caters to your every travel need, from aboveground kiddie pools to unheated outdoor bar. Drop by with friends or strangers as we raise the checkered flag on another checkered season.

Check - In, or 6:00 AM pARkingLoT ShipwRecK.

Bleary-eyed from allnight interstate driving, pull into the pumps at the TW Lodge-n-Lounge, weave around around the semis and vacation-bound station wagons... Congratulate yourself on finding a motel that doesn't take cash or credit. Dig out that loose bottle of Scotch from the back of your late- model Chevy Caprice and raise a glass to Tom Waits with the graveyard shift desk- clerk. Bang the bell, drop your bags, and check out all the early-morning Lodge-n-Lounge action.... someone's got Closing Time on a cheap plastic AM radio, and a few of the patrons look familiar from a couple rest stops back down the highway. if you can't make it by check-in time, drop a dime in the nearest payphone and raise a 6:00am scotch with us from wherever at 914/266-3869......

In the Lobby [all day.)

Wander around the Lodge-n-Lounge and take in the art & decor that motel management monthly described as "squalor de-luxe." There's the Tom Waits Memorial Tour of Joints, a photo exhibit of places Tom might frequent. Also, check out the parkinglot-at-your-door luxury of Motels of America, and ted's 24hr service display. Here's the perfect place to slip in your own previously unappreciated works of art. Later in the day, say, around 2 or so, add to the squalor with Basement Cave painting, using all the dangerous and flammable substances found in the Lodge-n-Lounge utility closet.

Our Philosophy

I don't need a lot of rules... well.. perhaps except for the following: (a) don't drive behind people wearing hats, even if it's Tom, (b) don't drive a car made past '74 (or one you can't work on), (c) hang up your cue when you run the table, (d) always buy your suitcases and 1/2 your furniture from the City Mission, and (e) don't take things too seriously. So this is my life and this is my party. Have a good time, bring your instruments and stories, mingle, and don't ask me about my career.
