...And I've been working like a dog. I can really relate to that song after working all day, trying to make my moms Mother's Day the best.
It all started this morning around 9 o'clock, when I made breakfast. I spent about an hour making eggs with ham and cheese, and 15 pieces of bacon. Then, I had to try and amuse my sister and try to give mom her space, a feat I will never attempt again. After a little relaxation time mixed with keeping my sister quiet while my mom slept, we were off to the grocery store to get my sister an early birthday present. And, of course, it starts raining, and my sister didn't bring her coat, so I gave her my sweatshirt and walked 10 blocks in the rain in a short sleeve shirt. After that I finally got some quality relaxation time, that is until I remembered that I had homework. By the time I finished that, it was 10 o'clock, and I was wiped, so I sat down and wrote this post. And now, I'm doomed to go to sleep with that great Beatles song stuck in my head,"It's been a hard days night, and I've been working like dog"...
Posted by Da Mogul at May 8, 2005 10:33 PMThank you! Especially for giving your sister your jacket. But one minor correction - you didn't buy your sister a gift at the grocery store, right? That just happened to be the last stop we made...
Posted by: Betsy at May 9, 2005 05:48 AMYou did good, Mogul! Sounds like you made your Mom's day just as special as she is.
Posted by: lu at May 9, 2005 07:20 AMWho's a good boy! Mogul's a good boy! Yes he is! Yes he is! What a GOOOOOOD boy!
Posted by: Penny at May 9, 2005 07:59 AMThere's nothing I can do that can express how special my mom is, all I can do is try.
That just made me cry.
Which, of course, ought to provoke an "awwww, Moooooommmmm" any minute now...
Posted by: Betsy at May 9, 2005 08:28 PMThat sounds like a fabulous Mother's day to me. Good work Mogul. And Penny, that was too funny.
Posted by: Susan at May 9, 2005 09:37 PMGood work, my young friend. Anything that makes mommy get the sniffles is a sure sign that you've not only tried, but succeeded in letting her at least catch a glimpse of how much she means to you. And though she may never know the full extent of your love, those little glimpses you provide will help her to never doubt the love that's there.
