ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Henry Hope Reed is president of Classical America and editor of Classical America Series in Art and Architecture. He is the assistant treasurer of the Horticultural Society of New York and the founder of the walking tours of both the Municipal Art Society and the Museum of the City of New York. Mr. Reed was also the first curator of Central Park. Among the books that Mr. Reed has had published are:

Esther Bubley is one of the nation's outstanding photographers. Her work has been published in major magazines including Life, Look, Fortune, Ladies' Home Journal, McCalls, Woman's Day, Saturday Evening Post, and The New York Times. Esther Bubley has also done documentary work for the photographic files of corporations, including Standard Oil of New Jersey and Pan American World Airways. Her work is to be found in both public and private collections. Books by Esther Bubley include:
