About the Authors: Updates & Contact Info

Programming with Java IDL was a long time in gestation, and a lot has happened since the original team was formed.

Geoff Lewis has retired as Vice President, Software Development, for the Web directory Looksmart, Ltd. Since the book was published, Geoff also held senior management positions at Visigenic and Verge Software.

Steven Barber is now Senior Architect with Random Walk Computing, a Java systems integration and consulting firm. Random Walk focuses its practice around the use of distributed object technologies in the financial industry, with particular interest and expertise in Java and CORBA. Everybody in Steve's family thought his personal description in the About the Author page of the book was too short, so for those who might desire more personal detail, please see http://www.echonyc.com/~sbarber, the obligatory self-indulgent personal Web page. Steve also is currently obsessed with windsurfing, both as a sport and as a metaphor for life. But that doesn't mean he's any good at it.

Henry Balen is now a founder of Xenotrope, a consulting company based in New York. Henry is the author of the book Distributed Object Architectures with CORBA, from SIGS/Cambridge University Press.

Patrick McTurk is a software engineer with C·ATS, a developer of financial risk managment and analytics software products, which, really, is what he wanted to do in the first place.

Marvin Wolfthal was with IMRglobal, a consulting services firm which recently acquired FSJ, Inc. of Boston, of which Marvin was a founding member. Marvin likes to play Go a lot. Marvin also is quite an accomplished pianist.

Gordon Palumbo has joined Xenotrope. Gordon likes Go, too.
