Posted by volfie at April 3, 2003 04:51 PMohmygod. i can pretty much sing the entire oeuvre of steely dan...and much to paul's chagrin, i do. last time i was at the doctor's office, i was sitting on the table waiting to be prodded, running through 'em song by song. let's just say i think the doctor has learned a valuable lesson about knocking before entering.
oh, i forgot to mention the utter joy that i derive from singing all the parts in fiddler on the roof, especially frumah sarah, at full volume. i am fairly certain that andrew would not tell you that this is my most charming and endearing habit.
Posted by: terry on April 3, 2003 05:53 PMlast night I went to see Mama Mia, and sure enough, I had to buy an ABBA cd today. I don't know all the words yet, buy I sing the ones I do know quite loud....can't wait to learn the rest.
Posted by: auntb on April 3, 2003 06:46 PMI'm amazed at how many songs you can hear once a decade yet still know every word. My list includes "Still Rock & Roll to Me", "Cruel to be Kind", anything by Jimmy Buffet, and all of Le Miz.
Posted by: delegatrix on April 4, 2003 12:15 PMthat's why schoolhouse rock was so successful i think...somehow, it's easier to memorize stuff when it's set to music. every single person my age can sing the preamble to the constitution, but can't say it otherwise.
