show your faith

Today I am considering a conversion to Christianity, but mostly because I can see that it would open up an entirely new avenue of spending and aquisition.

Look at some of the ways that I could show my faith:

I could have my minivan painted decoratively;

I could replace all of my old sinner's underpants;

my children and I could spend long evenings competing over who knows Jesus's mind best;

Jesus could help Emily's ballet skills improve, or provide Jonah with a cuddly plaything, or, with my help, send the Bills back to the Super Bowl;

or, of course, I could get a new tattoo.

Lordy, what would Jesus do?

Go ahead. Convert to Christianity. But first you have to give up chicken soup, farfel, pastrami on rye, latkes, tam-tams, pesadicha brownies, apples and honey, mandel, matza balls, soup nuts, and knishes. Get ready to give up that ever so slight feeling of guilt when you eat bacon or lobster.

Oh, and no more hamentashen, either. :-)

crap, say i. i am as shiksa as they come and i enjoy such things with heathen abandon. and if i know terry (and i do), there's no WAY she feels a scintilla of guilt about eating lobster. girl has her priorities straight.
