a little glimpse of me

time flies

Somehow, when I wasn't paying attention, time got the better of me again and, this morning, Emily headed off to first grade.

To say that she was excited would be an understatement (she told me that, even though she didn't want to say it out loud at the bus stop, in her head, she was thinking "School Rocks!" as I took that picture.). She was up last night at 11, 12:30 (fully dressed in her school clothes, no less!), and 5 and 6 am. When I woke her at 7, she pretty much bounced out of bed.

Today, she's pretty happy about the whole thing. We'll see how she feels tomorrow.

So? Does school still rock?

Zoe is in countdown mode: 'Only three days left of preschool, and then I go to KINDERGARTEN!!!"

school rocks, but there seems to be a lot of stress about the cafeteria. is zoe going to be in full-day?

Yep, we've full-day kindergarten at her school (and we don't even have to pay for it, woo-hoo!)
She starts in slowly, though - the rest of the kids are back next Wednesday, but she goes in Thursday for a visit, attends all day Monday with 1/2 of her class (the other half go all day Friday), and then the whole class is together Tuesday the 9th.

She'll eat lunch in her classroom with her own class - they do that for kindergarten classes automatically, and then the 1st grade teachers decide how they want to handle it by classroom. By 2nd grade, she'll be in the cafeteria, though.
