holiday menu
Rosh Hashanah dinner is being served here tomorrow night. Here's what we're having:
- chopped liver and little rye bread slices
- a piece of fontina (Emily's favorite. Don't ask.) and a piece of brie, drizzled with organic honey (just the brie) and nuts with crackers
- gefilte fish on a bed of organic baby romaine with some kind of vinaigrette
- chicken soup with matzoh balls and noodles (I like 'em both!)
- chicken breasts with honey/orange/ginger sauce for the adults and breaded chicken fingers for the kids
- kasha varnishkes with gravy
- carrot and sweet potato tsimmes
- green beans with butter and chopped walnuts
- pear cake with honey/lemon/cream cheese frosting
- and, of course, plenty of the wine that I schlepped back from California.
Anyone else want to come?
