a little glimpse of me

January 07, 2004

new year, new me

Here are some ways that you can be sure that it's a whole new year, aside from just taking a peek at that new calendar on the wall:

  1. I am eating more salad. Like lots more. Like all salad all the time. And weighing myself compulsively.

  2. I haven't baked a thing for at least two weekd.

  3. The other day, I cleaned and reorganized the front closet and both kitchen junk drawers.

  4. I am reading more. Almost done with Bel Canto, today I took Snow In August (is it really that good?), Old School (it's pronto book, which means I owe $1/day after 7 days, so this is definitely next on the list!), The Hatbox Baby and Daphne duMaurier's Rebecca out from the library.

  5. Andrew and I are going to try to make the Saturday night no-working-fire-and-a-movie thing a regular habit. This week's title is 13 Conversations About One Thing. My guess: I like it and he doesn't.

Happy new year, everyone.

If Andrew doesn't like 13 Conversations, you can't complain when he picks a guy flick like 2 Fast 2 Furious or something.

Next time, pick something you'll both enjoy, like the new Italian Job. :-)

Andrew is far less likely to pick something like 2 Fast 2 Furious than he is to pick something like Gosford Park, which makes me go "zzzzzzzzzz." As for the Italian Job, neither of us were thrilled.
