a little glimpse of me

taste of summer

It's been gorgeous (gorgeous!) here since the sun came out in the middle of the week, and clearly everyone is feeling it. The whole neighborhood is hopping with people at work on the exteriors of their homes for the first time in six months. The next door neighbor put in a big cement slab and a fancy basketball hoop, so the guys have been rejoicing all day. At about noon, there were no fewer than seven children and four adults in their driveway, watching its erection (heh heh erection heh heh).

We went out for ice cream last night...the farm stand has not only opened for the season, it has expanded its windows from two to four. Woo hoo! Jonah flatly refused his cone until I finally threw it out. Then, in the car, he took a look at Emily's and started shouting "CWEEM!" Ah, life with a two year old.

We're off to picnic in the park with two other families tonight, but I'll be bringing some warm layers. When the sun goes in, it's chilly. Sleeping is good.

I figure it should be about one more week before Andrew starts whining about wanting to turn on the central air.

asking if the stooges are funny is the same as asking if the eddie cantor show or the jack benny show or if george carlin is funny==different for each generation and the times
yes the stooges are funny in the way they look and in the way they acted--actually the experts think that curly was the funniest in the way he was always a child== they appeal to the child in us

I guess I just prefer the comedic acts that are more timeless -- Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, Burns & Allen, even I Love Lucy -- those are all funny. The stooges are just violent and mean-spirited.

Whee! Spring is here! My deck is now a pretty cedar color instead of drab, weathered gray! And I have new windows in time for the windows-open season! yay! Spring is here! happy happy!

they are only mean spirited as a result of self preservation=they are so stupid that they need this way to stay alive =actually society is always taking advantage of them
and one final word==if they are so stupid, mean spirited and violent, how come every one knows

"Niagara Falls, Slowly I turned"

I had my own bowl of "CWEEM!" yesterday in celebration of spring. It was heaven. Does it get any better than that?
